WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Climate changes rapidly as a result of human intervention.
Co-ordinated global co-operation is imminent and it is our duty especially for future generations.
The problems that arise are serious mainly because:
1) They endanger the living conditions of people on the planet
2) They are fatally leading to widening already huge disparities between States.

Under these circumstances, today’s day cannot have an anniversary character. On the contrary, it should be a day of reflection and awareness of our responsibilities.

WORLD PARENTS DAY

WORLD PARENTS DAY

It’s not easy to be a parent! Who did not feel it?
The risks we have to protect our children are many, the decisions we have to take for them at critical times are many, the right words we have to say sometimes, need to check what impact they will have on them.
Although we have more knowledge than our own parents, the role of today’s parents is complex.
Most parents are madly in love with our children since they were born. We never stop loving them whatever happens.
So do not forget to show your love to children in every way!

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day

Everything around us is changing rapidly …
New technologies cover an increasing part of both our professional and personal lives.
The modern man is trying to adapt to the new … that is constantly changing.
As new technologies penetrate everywhere, our daily lives are more easily coordinated with new technological requirements.
The Information Society is one of the most important priorities of the developed world.
But the point is to properly evaluate, manage and exploit the information we receive. The risks of social media, cyberbullying, internet dependence, cybercrime, are some of the issues that require particular attention.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FAMILIES

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FAMILIES

The traditional large family has been replaced by the core family. Alternative forms of cohabitation have increased.
Poverty that affect our society also test the cohesion of the family. Forced migration, the growing dependence of older people for survival due to pension constraints and shrinking the welfare state create tensions and test relationships.
What matters is to remain united despite the possible distance and mutual respect among the members.
Family support is not an expense, it is an investment in the future of the country.

Happy family day!!!

MOTHER’S DAY

MOTHER’S DAY

Ancient Greece is the primary source of reference in the “mother feast”. It was a feast of spring where Gaia, mother Earth, mother of all gods and men was worshiped.
It is a special day of the year where we celebrate the role of motherhood. But it is also a day of reasoning because raising a child requires dedication, care, and often sacrifices.
The presence of the mother in our lives is decisive and irreplaceable. She is the person who brought us to the world, she took care of us, supported our dreams, stood by our side, consoled us, made us guilty, saw us grow up and take our way.
Few flowers, a smile, a kiss, and a simple “thank you” may be little to gratify our gratitude for all that it offers us. But it is enough to make her happy.
Happy Mother’s Day!

Like every year, this year, on the 2nd of April, the birthday of the great Danish narrator, Hans Christian Andersen (April 2, 1805), is celebrated the World Children’s Book Day.

The Greek Children’s Book Circle, which is the Greek section of IBBY, collaborates with the National Book Center and with the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs in order to share the message of the Organization in schools and libraries. According to this year’s Ministry’s announcement, “this annual celebration stimulates the interest of children and young people in the book with various events (children’s book exhibitions, student meetings with writers and illustrators, theatrical performances etc .) ”

This year’s poster comes from Lithuania, and this is the message that accompanies it:
